graphic design

I have been illustrating professionally for 18 years.
When I first got a computer I studied the geometry of islamic art and created a large collection of scalable traditional patterns. They came in useful later, when I started designing stained-glass windows.
I then worked out a geometry for celtic knotwork, and now have the largest collection of knots in the world, as well as a large collection of designs for posters, cards and wallpapers. From this I wrote two books on celtic design for the modern age.
This led to a study of traditional tattoo designs which in turn led to the publication of a further two books on the subject.
Not all my work is based on prehistoric geometry; after years working with art deco and the Glasgow style, much of my recent work has been heavily influenced by the abstract impressionist Friedensreich Hundertwasser.
